Celebrating the Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary at SMIS

SMI’ans from all grade level gathered to celebrate the “The feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary” last September 8, in the school’s auditorium.
The Sisters of Mary Immaculate School (SMIS) is a place of learning, faith, and community where the celebration of religious traditions holds a special place.

Among the many significant events that grace the school’s calendar, the Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary stands out as a profound and spiritually enriching occasion, a celebration dedicated to the school’s patroness.

The Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a revered celebration in the Catholic tradition. It marks the birth of the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ. At SMIS, this feast is observed with great devotion, aiming to strengthen the spiritual ties among the school’s community members.

Preparations for this event began days in advance, and students were challenged with another slogan and poster competition in devotion for Mother Mary.

After the school’s morning activity/ceremony the SMIS community happily sung a “Happy birthday” song just for her, and during the institutional mass, the auditorium was adorned with candles, artworks and beautiful flowers given by students to serve as a gift.

The celebration of the Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary at Sisters of Mary Immaculate School goes beyond religious rituals; it encapsulates the essence of the school’s mission—to be Eucharist-centered, church-oriented and Marian devoted. The Feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary stands as a testament to the school’s commitment to its holistic education and spiritual growth, leaving a lasting impact on the hearts and minds of all who participate.
